The official competition schedule for PSA Nationals 2022 has been finalized and released! All registered participants can now view their assigned time slots for obedience and protection trials. The 4-day event features competitions across all three levels, with carefully planned timing to ensure smooth operations and optimal conditions for all competitors.
Schedule Overview
PSA Nationals 2022 will run from November 3-6, 2022, with competitions taking place November 4-6. Here's what you need to know about the schedule:
Thursday, November 3 - Pre-Competition Day
- 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM: Open Field Training - All registered participants can familiarize themselves with the competition field
- 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Meet & Greet and Draw Ceremony at Olive Tree Cafe - Competition order will be determined
Note: This is your opportunity to practice on the actual competition field and get comfortable with the environment.
Friday, November 4 - Obedience Day
- 7:00 AM: Registration desk opens for late arrivals and package pickup
- 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Level 1 Obedience Trials (Competition Field A)
- 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch break
- 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Level 2 Obedience Trials (Competition Field A)
Estimated participants: Level 1 (25-30 teams), Level 2 (20-25 teams)
Saturday, November 5 - Advanced Obedience & Protection
- 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Level 3 Obedience Trials (Competition Field A)
- 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch break
- 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Level 1 Protection Trials (Competition Field B)
- 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM: Banquet Dinner at Olive Tree Cafe (advance reservation required)
Estimated participants: Level 3 Obedience (15-20 teams), Level 1 Protection (25-30 teams)
Sunday, November 6 - Protection Finals & Awards
- 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Level 2 Protection Trials (Competition Field B)
- 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Lunch break
- 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Level 3 Protection Trials (Competition Field B)
- 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM: Awards Ceremony and Raffle Drawing (Main Stage)
Estimated participants: Level 2 Protection (20-25 teams), Level 3 Protection (15-20 teams)
How to Access Your Schedule
All registered participants will receive their personalized schedule via email by October 10, 2022. Your schedule will include:
- Your specific competition time slot(s)
- Assigned competition field (A or B)
- Check-in time (30 minutes before your slot)
- Warm-up area assignment
- Judge assignment for your category
⚠️ Important Scheduling Notes
- Arrive 30 minutes early: Check in at the registration desk before your scheduled time
- Be ready when called: Failure to appear when called may result in disqualification
- Schedule changes: Minor adjustments may occur due to weather or unforeseen circumstances
- Stay informed: Check the announcement board at the venue for any updates
- Multiple dogs: If you registered multiple dogs, their times are staggered to allow adequate preparation
Competition Format Details
Obedience Trials
Each obedience trial consists of:
- Level 1: Approximately 8-10 minutes per team (heeling, sit, down, recall)
- Level 2: Approximately 10-12 minutes per team (advanced commands, distance control)
- Level 3: Approximately 12-15 minutes per team (expert level, complex sequences)
Protection Trials
Each protection trial consists of:
- Level 1: Approximately 10-12 minutes per team (basic protection skills)
- Level 2: Approximately 12-15 minutes per team (intermediate scenarios)
- Level 3: Approximately 15-20 minutes per team (advanced real-world simulations)
Judging Panel

- Head Judge: To be announced at Meet & Greet
- Obedience Judges: 3 certified PSA judges with 10+ years experience
- Protection Judges: 3 certified PSA judges specializing in protection sports

Spectator Information
Spectators are welcome throughout the competition! Here's what you need to know:
- Free admission for all spectators
- Viewing areas with comfortable seating around both competition fields
- Food and beverages available on-site
- Vendor booths open throughout the event
- Photography allowed for personal use (no flash during competitions)
- Please maintain quiet during active competitions
Weather Contingency Plan
PSA Nationals 2022 will proceed rain or shine, with the following provisions:
- Light rain: Competition continues as scheduled
- Heavy rain: Temporary delays with schedule adjustments
- Severe weather: Competition may be postponed; participants will be notified via email and on-site announcements
- Temperature: Expected range 50-65°F - dress in layers
